Carlson Design & Planning, an unconventional design and planning firm, creates aesthetically appealing and functional land and waterscapes by integrating sustainable principles that promote natural resource conservation, resilience, and land use needs. Founder Michele Carlson is skilled at systems thinking and resourceful problem solving, and believes the relationship between people, land, and water is a compelling conversation at the heart of future design and planning. Her design approach is rooted in science and nature based form and function. She has working relationships with skilled specialists in green infrastructure, sustainability, coastal adaptation, soil science, botany and ecology. CD&P brings unique teams together relative to the needs and opportunities of projects. She holds a Master of Science in Ecological Design and Planning and works on various scaled projects in the Greater New York area, New England and beyond.
